This summer, BackCountry Jazz is proud to present the 2nd annual Greenwich Jazz Festival 2023. Our season will feature extraordinary jazz artists, from celebrated greats to young rising stars. Nine concerts in casual, open air settings from June through September. Stay connected for performance dates and venue locations for a summer long celebration of Jazz.

For more than fifteen years, BackCountry Jazz (BCJazz) has been an essential cultural
partner in Fairfield County and beyond. As a producer, BCJazz creates and presents
concerts that feature some of the finest jazz artists on the scene today.

Committed to music education, BCJazz provides young people with innovative, high-quality programs, brings engaging concerts to local public schools, and connects young musicians to opportunities for performance, mentorship, and college access through music.

Our program is a rigorous learning experience that instills confidence and courage. It strives to expand young people’s musical knowledge and encourage imaginative thinking and creativity, while teaching the values jazz represents: teamwork, respect, and freedom with responsibility.

Our tuition-free programs include the BackCountry Jazz Summer Music Camp, the
After-School Music Program, The Mentorship Program, scholarships, student performing ensembles, instruments, workshops, master classes, and exciting concerts and events with artists and educators who perform and teach at the highest level of excellence. Through concerts and music education, BackCountry Jazz celebrates, preserves, and expands the rich tradition of the only uniquely American art form – Jazz.
