Students will develop their own graphic style in a medium often used by illustrators in order to bring a character of their own to life. Students will learn how to create figures of all shapes and sizes, be introduced to the different styles of popular illustrators and animators like Ethan Becker, Hayao Miyazaki, and Takeshi Obata, and develop a concept for their own character’s personality and the world they live in. “How will your character’s appearance relate or contrast to who they are?” will be an ongoing question in this course.
