Connecticut Dance School’s popular, magical Nutcracker ballet returns to the Quick Center for three full-length main stage performances on Sat. Dec. 9, 2023 at 6pm, Sun. Dec. 10 at 1pm* (Sensory Friendly) and Sun. Dec. 10 at 4pm. Featuring over 100 dancers, original choreography, elegant costumes, classic sets and Tchaikovsky’s unforgettable music, the CDS Nutcracker is the perfect way for the entire family to kick off the holiday season. Audiences will thrill to the Nutcracker spectacle: Snow dancers twirling through falling snowflakes, a fierce Mouse Queen leading the charging Mice, a leaping Cavalier
and an ethereal Sugar Plum Fairy!

New this year on Sunday, December 10 at 1pm is a full-length Sensory Friendly performance, showcasing CDS Dance 4All Abilities students and their CDS Dance Buddies. The CDS D4AA program adapts dance education for neurodivergent (Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, etc.) or mobility challenged students. Both for dancers and patrons of all ages, with or without sensitivity or sensory processing challenges, the performance environment is friendly, supportive and non-judgmental. Accommodations include adjustments to sound effects and house and stage lighting. Audience members, with staff assistance, may enter or exit the theater during the
performance, and the lobby will host a quiet activity area. This way, all may share the joy of live dance, together in the theater!
