The Stamford Public Education Foundation (SPEF) is excited to be celebrating the power of public education at its 17th annual Excellence in Education Awards! Being held on March 21st at the Stamford Marriott Hotel & Spa, the event brings together community members, professionals from corporations, school administrators, teachers, and parents to celebrate Stamford’s commitment to empowering the next generation of Stamford students.

The evening features a networking reception with a silent auction, musical performances from students, delicious hors d’oeuvres that are paired with specially selected wine and beer, and, of course, the award ceremony. At this year’s event we will be honoring Susan Nabel, posthumously, with the SPEF Leadership Award and the Viking Global Foundation with the SPEF Community Giving Award. We will also be announcing the winner of the SPEF Educator Award, in which educators are nominated by Parent-Teacher Organizations from Stamford’s 22 public schools and the winner is selected by SPEF’s Board of Directors.

All proceeds benefit SPEF’s educational programs, which serve under-resourced students in our district. Programs include mentoring, tutoring, kindergarten readiness, parent leadership training and book distributions.
