The Rob Mathes Holiday Concert returns to The Performing Arts Center at Purchase College for three shows this December at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, December 20 and 21, and a matinee performance at 3 p.m., on Sunday, December 22, 2024. Every December, arranger, composer, producer, director, and Emmy-award winning and Grammy nominated musician extraordinaire Rob Mathes rings in the holiday season with a spectacular celebration that features Mathes, his all-star band and choir of “Saints and Friends.” This high-energy evening of rock, jazz, and blues, including original tunes and new spins on favorite holiday classics, is a holiday tradition.
Rob Mathes has worked with virtually every big name in the music industry, arranging, producing, directing, recording, and performing with the likes of Sting, Bono, Bennett and Springsteen. This past year, he worked on a series of symphonic concerts with Sting with the Philadelphia Orchestra, The San Francisco Symphony and the Florida Orchestra. He produced Melissa Errico’s Sondheim in the City album, which was released to rave reviews. He also spent the year working with Bruce Springsteen and Elvis Costello on projects, of which Elvis’ new show Face in the Crowd show is opening in London. He also musically directed both the MusiCares Artist of the Year event honoring BON JOVI, with performances by Bruce Springsteen, Melissa Etheridge, Jelly Roll, Shania Twain, Lainey Wilson, Larkin Poe, Jason Isbell, Train and Brandy Clark, and the Songwriters Hall of Fame Awards, which honored Steely Dan, Timbaland and R.E.M., who played together for the first time in years. Rob also teaches songwriting at BerkleeNYC. Despite his busy schedule, every year he returns home and to the delight of his his fans, and takes center stage to ring in the holidays. It’s not the holidays until The Rob Mathes Holiday Concert!
