For the time-strapped, squeezing in a blowout may seem like an indulgence. But at Le Boudoir, Darien’s first and only blow-dry and beauty bar, luxurious beauty experiences are delivered with time and convenience in mind. The salon offers blowouts, makeup applications and group classes, although services are also available in the comfort of your own home.
Each wash station at Le Boudoir comes equipped with a full-body massage chair and privacy screen.
With an existing location in New Canaan, Le Boudoir recently opened its second salon in Darien. Its modern, urban space is an escape from everyday life, and each visit is a pampering experience. “Gorgeous is not just the way you look, but how you feel,” says Mamoune Tazi, founder and stylist. “That’s why our tagline is ‘Come pretty. Leave gorgeous.’ The pre-blowout hair wash is also a draw, with special chairs that massage your back and legs. Appointments can be made via phone, online or through Le Boudoir’s app, and walk-ins are welcome. The Darien salon opens at 6:30 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays to provide blowouts before the hectic day begins. 13 Grove Street, Darien; 203-569-5751; leboudoirbeauty.com
3 TIPS FOR LUSTROUS LOCKS
FOR SILKY, SHINY HAIR, FOLLOW TAZI’S ADVICE
1 USE DRY SHAMPOO
It not only stretches out your blowout, it’s healthier for your hair. The longer you wait before washing your hair, the healthier it will be.
2 DEEP CONDITION
Apply a deep- conditioning treatment to dry hair pre-workout—body heat makes the treatment more effective. Afterward, rinse it out and style. Or simply stop at Le Boudoir—a stylist can apply the treatment pre-workout and rinse it out post-workout before giving you a blowout.
3 REPEL MOISTURE
Hair that tends to frizz needs to be saturated with product so moisture from the air can’t penetrate. Create a frizz-free barrier with leave-in conditioner and anti-humidity spray.
