With only weeks of summer left, it’s vital to soak up every last bit of the season! If you’re looking for something to do in Stamford, you came to the right place — this list has a little bit of everything you won’t want to miss.
1. Support Your City

Check out independent film at its best at the Avon Theater, located in the heart of town on Bedford Street. As a non-profit, the Avon showcases various films across all genres, including “Chef”, featuring Robert Downey Jr. and Scarlett Johansson. For more information on featured films and showtimes, go to The Avon Theater.
2. Take A Seat

If you love scavenger hunts, you’ll love Street Seats, an art exhibit spread across the entire city! Complete with forty unique and beautiful benches scattered all over, each bench is sponsored by an organization or a donor. I ran into the artist of “Barkalounger,” Pat Satchfield-Collins, who was inspired by her dog as well as the pups of her friends and family members. For a map of the benches, click here!
3. Satisfy Your Sweet Tooth

If you haven’t tried gelato perfection at Volta, I strongly recommend you stop reading and go straight to Spring Street. Made with fresh ingredients, Volta’s long list of flavors boasts city favorites like nutella, lemon, tiramisu, and more. It’s the best solution to a hot summer afternoon, or a good excuse to meet a friend for a midday scoop.
4. Look At The Glass Half Full

Believe it or not, Stamford is home to its own microbrew. Half Full Brewery settled in on Homestead Avenue is making quite the impression — started by Conor who was inspired by his love for brewing, Half Full Brewery is proof that dreams can become reality. The brewery is open Thursday through Saturday. To schedule a tasting or go on a brewery tour, visit HalfFullBrewery.com.
5. Sharpen Up Your Swing

Summer is a great time to get into golf. If you’re a beginner you can sign up for lessons at Sterling Farms Golf Club on Newfield Avenue. If you’re still working on your form, the driving range is open until sundown every day of the week!
6. Stretch Your Legs

Looking for an easy way to get some ‘me” time? Look no further than Yoga In The Park. Every Sunday and Thursday, Aimee Elsner shows you how to unwind and reset during your workweek and weekends. For the full schedule, visit MillRiverPark.com.
7. Pasta. Pasta. Pasta.

If you’re feeling a little Italian, be sure to stop by Rizzuto’s during their Wednesday night all you can eat pasta party! Mark is an employee at Rizzuto’s and mentioned the most important thing to keep in mind about pasta night: “It starts off with salad and soup, then you can choose from 9 different pastas… you don’t have to stick with the same pasta the first time you order!” Now you don’t need an excuse to load up on carbs!
8. See the Stars

Recharge on a Friday night with your family and friends at the Stamford Museum and Nature Center during their Observatory Visitors Night. At only $5 for adults and $3 for children, the experience is out of this world! For more information, call (203) 322-1646.
9. Fire Up Your Appetite

Restaurant Week in Stamford can only mean one thing: great food is on its way! This year, more than thirty local bars and restaurants will be participating in TWO, count them, TWO weeks of appetizers, entrees, and signature cocktails made specifically for the event. It all starts on August 18 and runs to September 1. To see the menus of restaurants around Stamford click here.
10. Master the Maze

Are you up for a challenge? Maybe you’re looking to get back in touch with nature after hustling and bustling? The Mianus Maze is a 14-mile loop in Stamford, filled with a variety of things to see and do right in the forests of Fairfield County.
