Meet the best friends behind Le Bon, the vintage candy truck making Connecticut sweeter. Andrea Pion Pierre and Jane Roggen turned their love of nostalgia and treats into a mobile marché that’s equal parts candy shop, summer destination and community magnet.

There is something about a candy truck that stops people in their tracks. Maybe its the color. Maybe its the music. Maybe its the way it conjures up every good summer memory you have ever had, distilled into a single rolling, sugar-dusted moment. For Andrea Pion Pierre and Jane Roggen, that feeling was the whole point.
The two mothers, best friends with different aesthetics, different social feeds and one very shared sweet tooth, are launching Le Bon this summer, a vintage mobile marché devoted to candy, nostalgia and the particular joy of encountering something delightful when you least expect it. We sat down with Andrea and Jane to get the full story about the friendship, the concept, the candy and what happens when two women who genuinely love what they do decide to take it on the road.

On Who They Are
Samantha: For anyone meeting you for the first time — give us the real introduction. Who are you beyond the handles and where do you each call home?
Andrea (@asliceopi): Mom of three boys, slowly making our dream home in Connecticut and moving away from our life in New York City. We’re currently renovating our 200-plus-year-old house and are eager to live here full time. I’ve spent the last 12 years creating content for brands online and left the finance world in 2017 to pursue this creative career full-time. Most of my content is lifestyle, but I plan to use our home renovation to catapult my brand into the home and landscape design space.
Jane (@sooplainjane): I’m a mom of two boys and freelance as a marketing consultant. Home to me is Pound Ridge, New York.
Samantha: So, you’re both mothers. How much does that chapter of life — the chaos, the joy, the nostalgia — inform what Le Bon is?
Andrea: I’ve always been drawn to nostalgic feelings — music, cars, homes, décor, lifestyle. I love event planning and have always wanted to start a lifestyle brand. As a mother, I also love experiences the whole family can enjoy, and Le Bon felt like the perfect segue between all of those elements.
Jane: Life is absolutely chaotic and full with young kids, but it makes the simple moments feel even more meaningful. Besides just delicious European candy, we wanted to really create an experience — obsessing over all the details that we know our customer, like us, would appreciate. We love that candy is a shared experience for all ages, and that’s very much the spirit of Le Bon.
Samantha: Your social presences feel distinct. How would each of you describe your own voice online, and what does the other bring that you genuinely could not do without?
Andrea: I’m totally a daydreamer — chasing passions and little joys. Jane 1,000% keeps me grounded and brings me back down, while also strategically bringing her design style and intelligence to any situation.
Jane: I’d like to think my voice is relatable — “friend on the internet” energy rather than influencer. I share the not-so-glamorous parts of my life. Andrea is an aspirational storyteller. Her traditional style, unmistakable aesthetic and warm presence make everything she shares feel so special. Her ability to curate beautiful, cohesive experiences is on a level all its own.

On the Friendship
Samantha: Take us back to the beginning. How did you two actually meet — and was there a moment when you both knew this friendship was something real?
Andrea: We met through the industry and really connected over our love of food — particularly sandwiches! We’re both boy moms who were once together in New York City, and we got to experience our last pregnancies together with our youngest sons, which was really special. We also started exploring life outside the city around the same time and bonded over the towns we loved and where we wanted to settle.
Samantha: Best friends going into business together; beautiful idea or cautionary tale?
Andrea: If I were to start all over again, Jane is 1,000% the only person in the world I could envision doing this with.
Jane: Having experienced it firsthand, I’d normally be the first to advise against it. But this is different because it started as a beautiful idea and a shared passion — together.
Samantha: What is the one thing about running a business with your best friend that nobody tells you?
Andrea: One day at a time — even if it’s just making one decision or sending one email at a time. We’re both juggling a lot outside of this, and I have to remind myself it’s going to be OK if everything isn’t figured out in one day.
ON LE BON
Samantha: Where did the name come from, and what does it mean to you beyond the literal translation?
Andrea: For me, it means everything good in life. We have big goals on expanding beyond Swedish candy and events, so we wanted something that carries the same feeling across different things. Le Bon stands for “the good” in French — and it really encapsulates those feelings.
Samantha: Vintage candy truck, mobile marché, walk us through the vision. What does the Le Bon experience actually look, feel, and taste like when someone encounters it for the first time?
Andrea: The first encounter with Le Bon is designed to feel like stumbling onto a happy memory you didn’t realize you still carried. Visually, people are drawn in by the vintage candy truck — the colors, the details and the nostalgia immediately spark curiosity and smiles. As they get closer, they’re met with candies that remind them of childhood trips to the corner store. People start pointing things out to friends, sharing stories, rediscovering the simple joy of choosing candy. Kids feel like they hit the jackpot; adults become kids again for a few moments.
Then comes the taste, and that’s where people notice something is different. Our candy is primarily imported from Sweden, where confectionery traditions emphasize high-quality ingredients, natural flavors and a cleaner taste profile. The flavors are more nuanced, the textures more satisfying. What begins as buying candy becomes something deeper, a sensory experience that blends nostalgia with discovery.
Samantha: What specific candies, flavors or memories were you chasing when you built this out? What were the non-negotiables?
Andrea: The candy was the easy part! Designing the truck to be memorable and “the perfect experience” was the real challenge — something we discussed for almost a year. One thing always remained true: It has to feel like the perfect New England meets French countryside market stand.
Jane: We wanted to capture the simple joy of colorful candy displays and scooping your favorites into a bag. We drew a lot of inspiration from farmers market stands — so we of course needed fruit gummies, classic gummy rings, and fizzy cola bottles—my personal favorite!
Samantha: How much of Le Bon is designed for the kids, and how much is secretly for the adults who just want to feel like kids again?
Andrea: The whole concept is designed for everyone. There’s a particular craftsmanship that goes into Swedish candy that you just can’t find in stores here in America. Our curated selection of premium sweets is meant to check off different palates and appetites — really, there’s something for everyone.
Jane: We made sure there was a good balance of feeling upscale and chic, but at the same time, playful and whimsical. Honestly though, its probably more for the adults who appreciate aesthetically pleasing design and thoughtful details.
Samantha: Mobile is a statement. You could have opened a storefront. Why the truck, and why now?
Andrea: We looked into real estate at first — unfortunately, that’s hard to come by these days and comes with its own challenges. We felt like going mobile was a lot less risky. We could start with something tangible, something we actually owned and something we can travel with.

On the Launch
Samantha: Le Bon is hitting the road this summer. What does the launch look like, where are you going, and what should people expect?
Andre: Our launch started at the Mayflower Fenimore Lane event, with a couple of private events to follow. Where we’ll pop up publicly, you can find on our Instagram @hellolebon — there’s also an inquiry form linked in the bio. If you’re not on social media, you can reach us at hello@leboncle.com.
Samantha: Are there specific towns, events or communities you’re prioritizing in this first season?
Andrea & Jane: We are just so excited and eager to pop up where and when we can!
Samantha: Is Le Bon building toward something larger — markets, collaborations, a brick-and-mortar someday?
Andrea: We are working on some exciting things. You’re just going to have to follow along and see what we’re up to next!
On the sweet life
Samantha: If Le Bon were a candy, just one, what would it be and why?
Andrea: Swedish pistols. A playful, indulgent treat — sweet on the outside, creamy on the inside. Bold, contrasting textures, fun to eat and visually striking, just like our truck.
Jane: Probably these Swedish rainbow sour gummy tubes with a white cream-like filling in the middle. Like the candy, Le Bon is eye-catching and fun on the outside and delivers something special inside, classic with a modern twist.
Samantha: What do you want people to feel in the thirty seconds after they walk away from the truck?
Andrea: Happy.
Samantha: Last question: what is the one candy that started it all for you personally?
Andrea: Swedish pistols.
Jane: Fizzy cola bottles. Always and forever.
