Who Wants A Cookie?

'Tis the season for fresh baked cookies — but that doesn't mean you have to do all the work. Kelly Clement founded K Is for Cookies and wow'd her boss at Westport's Le Farm restaurant: owner and chef Bill Taibe. The cookies are served at the restaurant. Also, a few selections are sold in packages at the restaurant, online and at the farmers market in Black Rock. The cookies, made with organic ingredients, come in tantalizing flavors, such as black pepper parmesan and lemon fennel.

She recently caught the eye of good taste maven Martha Stewart, having been nominated for a 2014 American Made Award. "It's actually a self-nomination process, for American small businesses that make locally minded, artisanal products," says Kelly. "It's a great forum to spotlight people who are passionate about what they do, and it's inspirational for people that want to start their own businesses to read about how others got started." One thing is clear — her hometown fans are raving about her treats.
