Celebrate the opening of Groove in Westport with cocktails, food, and 10% off all purchases this Thursday, October 18 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
Groove is positioned to be the new go-to place for both moms looking to outfit their kids in hipster clothes as well as for tweens and teens who want to find the hottest trends and coolest looks that won’t be seen anywhere else.
Brought to town by two stylish Westport moms, Corri Neckritz and Erin Berk, Groove is planned as more than just a shopping spot but a destination. “This is the place we envision people will want to come, hang out, feel good about themselves and shop,” the pair says.
The name Groove might be familiar to many moms as the at-home business of Neckritz, who has been ensconced in retail for over 20 years. “You will still enjoy the personal attention and service,” says Corri, “just in our store now.”
Berk who is originally from southern California is bringing an L.A. vibe to the store. “We are introducing some of the best L.A. designers and their boho chic style to our customers,” she adds. Berk, a mother of three, has wanted to open a store since she was a little girl.“I love the customer aspect,” she says. “Even when I am shopping, I enjoy helping other people—I always like people to leave feeling good.”
The owners have created a space that reminds Berk of her favorite store as a teenager. “My sister and I never wanted to leave.” The décor at Groove is minimalist and fashionable with chandeliers over the dressing rooms and a comfy seating area.
Their clothing lines are what kids want to wear, but are not typically seen all over. “We want to keep it new and fresh,” says Corri. Some brands include Wildfox, Chaser, L.A. Made, Pink Chicken and Petit Bateau.
Groove will also carry easy to pick out gifts from cell phone covers and jewelry to overnight bags and accessories. They’ll have items for birthday, baby, and holiday and offer fabulous gift bag packaging!
The owners are planning store events for teens, girls’ night out and special events, like highlighting local child designers. They also carry some lines that give back, with proceeds going to various women’s and children’s charities.
