Inside Scoop

Fashion Finds

When I want to splurge on a handbag, there is no better place to peruse and purchase than Mitchells. For a wardrobe update, Intermix is my destination of choice. The selection is perfectly curated for the local lifestyle (Torn by Ronny Kobo dresses, Rag & Bone denim, Equipment tops); I rarely leave empty-handed. Calypso St. Barth is a one-stop shop for Compo Beach chic. The assortment of tees, flip-flops, flowy tunics and gauzy scarves is flawless.

Beauty Buzz

For a flawless face, Dr. Tanya Futoryan at Westport Dermatology & Laser Center is my first (and only) call. Equipped with the latest cosmetic procedures and chemical peels, complexion perfection can be had in minutes. Time for a trim? Text Nunzio (917-405-0114) for a haircut house call. Top beauty editors have him on speed dial, and (lucky us!) he lives locally. To do my body good, I subscribe to Bestowed.com and get healthy treats and tips picked by nutritionist (and Westport resident) Heather Bauer delivered to my door monthly.

Food & Wine Fix

Entertaining at home? Head to Bottlerocket. The bounty of booze is merchandised in the most user-friendly way. End the evening on a sweet note with a simple buttercream frosted vanilla cake from Great Cakes—as delicious now as it was at my fifth birthday party. Out and about? Make a divine dinner out of Brussels sprouts, deviled eggs, oysters and seasonal specials at The Whelk. The best morning-after breakfast? Coffee An’ takes the cake (or donut) here. A close second is the Sherwood Diner—its scrambled eggs have been ordered by yours truly for nearly thirty years. A light lunch at Pink Sumo is perfect for a midday meeting. If the sun is shining, calamari salad at the Gray Goose is extra refreshing when enjoyed at a table on the patio.
