After a long year, now is the time to gather family and friends and show them how much you appreciate and love them. Stylish and sleek, Bar Rosso, with its all-Italian wine menu is a great destination. Not familiar with some of the offerings? Ask. That’s part of the fun. As is the large specialty cocktail menu. The food is all-Italian too, with antipasti, homemade pastas, and meats and fish. Be sure to order Neapolitan-style pizzas from the wood-fired oven, perfect for all to share. If you’re into planning, call a few days ahead and the chef will make a gelato cake for your group. If you take our suggestion and try The VIP (see pg. 81), you will also learn Del Frisco’s Grille is the place for gathering, especially if your group is large. You can opt for oven-baked flatbreads, lollipop chicken wings, cheesesteak egg rolls or Asian street tacos and let the conversation go from there. Need more substance? Signature steaks or two-fisted sandwiches to the rescue. There’s a private party room you can reserve; perfect for a company party. For smaller groups, there’s F.I.S.H., Stamford’s only true seafood restaurant. There’s an extensive raw bar, comfort-food offerings (some non-fish items, just in case), and our favorite, the naked fish dinner, where your guests can order one of eight fish either pan-seared, grilled or blackened, then choose from an array of sauces, and even add a crusting option for a one-of-a-kind meal. Finally, check out Table 104 Osteria & Bar for Roman fare. You would do fine focusing on the Boards and Starters: think fried olives, wild boar ribs, crostini three ways, seared scallops in Romesco, charcuterie, and so much more. Hungry yet?
