As curators and educators of the town’s history, the Fairfield Museum and History Center has an active date book. This summer is packed with camps for children with topics such as world culture and art. In addition, everyone is welcome to join a walking tour to explore our past, remember our milestones, and recognize locals who influenced the course of events. During these regularly scheduled tours, guides discuss important historical sites on the Town Green. And up at Ogden House, visitors can immerse themselves in eighteenth-century life. The center also hosts incredible exhibits throughout the year. For example, the IMAGES photography exhibit (up until July 21) features works by professional and talented amateur artists and a collection of images by Philip Trager. Don’t forget, the museum is also a research resource. Its well-stocked library has the information you need to dig deep into town roots. If you’re a proud Fairfielder, you should also check out the museum’s shop. The recent grand re-opening revealed some of the best Fairfield finds we’ve seen—books, jewelry, wine totes, toys, gardening accessories, and more.
