A gang of kids plant themselves right in the center of a street in Old Greenwich—prime real estate for a night of neighborhood fireworks. You get the sense that no one’s in a rush; parents are chatting behind them; sparklers are about to be lit, and the cooler’s still full. It’s the kind of Fourth of July magic that doesn’t cost a thing but lasts forever. These are the good old days—in real time.
