ROOMS with A View, the premier design event in Fairfield County, celebrated its 17th year this November, with “The Next Generation” of designers. Each of the twelve designers were personally recommended by last year’s participants, including Alexa Hampton, Bunny Williams, and David Easton. Each of their 5×8 vignettes paid homage to Albert Hadley, the “Dean of American Design,” who is also the founder and hands-on honorary chairman of RWAV. Hadley, whose work influenced all of the designers in “The Next Generation,” was also a partner with Sister Parish in the legendary Parish-Hadley firm.
The designers created their vignettes, mini-rooms with eight-foot ceilings and three walls, in the library and great hall of the historic Southport Congregational Church in Southport, CT. The designers who participated this year were Michael Adams, Olga Adler, Sam Allen, James Andrew, John Todd Bishop, Connie Cooper, Allison Hennessy, Melissa Marcogliese, George Marshall Peters, James D. Petersen, Carmiña Roth and Christopher Stevens.
The event also include a Marketplace with over thirty vendors, a Café, and “The Design World Of Jeffrey Bilhuber,” a Saturday evening Seminar, Book Signing and Wine and Cheese Event with renowned interior designer/author Jeffrey Bilhuber.
