Sweeter Dreams

Part luxury linen shop, part design studio, Lynnens on the Avenue is celebrating thirty-five years in town. There’s good reason that this boutique, owned by Greenwich native Lynne Jenkins, has been the go-to store for homeowners for so long. Yes, Lynnens carries an exceptional selection of splurge-worthy bedding, bath and table linens—Sferra, Yves Delormes, Peacock Alley, Frette, Pratesi, and Pine Cone Hill are among the coveted lines—but customer service is what sets the store apart. A third of the business here is custom, and every purchase is kept on file so when you want to order a pair of pillows to fit a specific sham or a duvet similar to the one you love, you can find out in a minute what to order. Want bedding to coordinate with your wallpaper? Placemats to complement your dining room decor? Everything can be customized and color-matched; you bring in a fabric or wallcovering sample and the staff will find the perfect match. “That is the fun part. It’s creative and you’re able to sit down with people and decorators,” says Lynne, who also offers bridal registry and makes house calls for larger projects. She says that the trend is cleaner lines, “less froufrou,” but with an emphasis on quality. “Our whole focus is about quality and service.”
