They Just Wanna Have Fun

There’s nothing like a night out with your gal pals. But where to go? Brasitas! The presentation of all the Latin American fusion dishes is inspired, reason enough to go, and sure to be appreciated by a group of women. The complimentary plantains and pico de gallo are terrific, and we suggest adding to the total experience by ordering empanadas with your drinks. Then choose a main from land or sea, and end your meal with one of the unusual dessert offerings to make it a truly special evening. It’s small, and crowded, so make a reservation! Cask Republic is perfect: fifty-six beers on tap (plus more than eighty bottles), sixty scotches, ryes and whiskies; and a good selection of wine. As for the food, consider one of the many cheese boards with your drinks, add a flatbread, small plate or entrée, and finally a dessert for the table—how about chocolate espresso crème brûlée? At Gastro Bar, try the bartender’s take on the Moscow Mule or the Slow & Low—whiskey, muddled citrus and ginger beer, guaranteed to warm you up on any cold night. There are meat and cheese platters for two—perfect for sharing—and a prix-fixe dinner for those with hearty appetites. And finally there’s Lola’s Mexican Kitchen, a traditional cantina. We suggest the taco bar with some house-made sangria or some queso fundido and brisket nachos with a round of shots of the more than forty tequilas Lola’s offers. There’s even a tequila tower—definitely not for the fainthearted!
