Even die-hard fans of good-ol’ Mario’s are going to be won over by the newly opened Harvest Wine Bar and Restaurant. Located by the railroad station, the place has been reclaimed and dragged into today’s world of restaurant décor and cuisine. In the last year, the siblings and co-owners, Kluber, Nube and Vincente Siguenza, overhauled the space, giving it a fresh, contemporary mix of reclaimed wood, shiny metal, modern lighting and an open and tempting collection of wine and spirits all within a historic building. The tone is luxe casual, a perfect lure for commuters and Westporters. Its recent opening celebration gives another clue to its likely success: the warmth of friends and family.
Here are a few shots the festivities and the many people who enjoyed the ribbon cutting, the celebration and the food being passed, including a shaved Brussels sprouts salad, tuna tartare and grilled calamari. Look for your friends, they were probably there and likely to return soon for a night out at Westport’s latest farm-to-fork restaurant. The pros are the same who bring us Cava Wine Bar in New Canaan, Scena Wine Bar in Darien, 55 Wine Bar in Fairfield and another Harvest in Greenwich, so expect to have plenty of loyal diners enjoying this outstanding new restaurant.
