Feeling more alive now that summer has kicked off? Stamford’s downtown has become more alive than ever as hundreds of fans ring in the 5 ‘clock hour with live music. The Alive at Five concert series kicked off June 20 with a performance by The Wallflowers, as well as a June 27 performance by The Mavericks.
Here's the lineup for the rest of the summer…
July 11 — Ryan Cabrera
Most notable for his spiked, platinum hair and public relationships with a reality star and a musician, Cabrera cracked the Billboard top 10 with his single “On the Way Down.” The pop rocker is fluent on the guitar and is likely to add a few acoustic tunes to the set list.
July 18 — Wynonna Judd
After achieving great success in a country duo with her mother, Naomi, Wynonna is taking her newly formed band, “Wynonna & The Big Noise,” from Nashville to the Stamford stage.
July 25 — Bret Michaels
Bret Michael’s once conquered the music scene as the lead singer of the 1980’s metal band, Poison. However, to today’s generations he’s most known for his role as a reality TV star. Now, Michael’s is using his newfound TV fame to reclaim his musical kudos.
August 1— Matt Nathanson
A skilled vocalist and guitarist, Nathanson mixes pop, rock, and folk with an acoustic, sing/songwriter vibe. His new music drops this summer.
August 8 — Howie Day
Seasoned in both performing and writing, Day has six albums and EPs to his name, including the platinum selling single, “Collide.”
August 15 — Michael McDonald
With five Grammy awards and a run as a member of the soul band, The Doobie Brothers, McDonald’s recognizable low-toned voice now shines on it’s own.
