AMERICARES

The AmeriCares Airlift Benefit raised a record $2.6 million for the emergency response and global health organization’s work in more than ninety countries. AmeriCares Ambassador and New Canaan resident Tony Goldwyn was the special guest. Erica Hill, co-anchor of Weekend TODAY and national correspondent for NBC News, served as Master of Ceremonies. More than 800 guests attended the twenty-eighth annual event at the J.P. Morgan Chase Hangar at Westchester County Airport; the fundraiser was presented by lead sponsor Medtronic. Following cocktails, dinner and dancing, the evening culminated with the departure of eighty-nine guests aboard a plane headed for Guatemala. The group traveled there to see the clinics, hospitals and community health programs supported by AmeriCares. The 24-hour experience gave supporters an up-close look at the impact this nonprofit has made in underserved communities around the world. americares.org
