Aryn Courtney Jordan and Jeremy Cecil Hellinger met through Jeremy’s cousin, Skylar Schur. The two were set up on a blind date and agreed to meet for drinks at the Blue Water Grill in New York City. Drinks became dinner, dinner became dessert and they didn’t leave the restaurant until after midnight. Jeremy is an avid golfer and eagerly taught Aryn the game. Eighteen months after their first date, Jeremy proposed on the fourteenth hole at Old Oaks Country Club. The ring was in the hole and Aryn found it after knocking in her ten-foot par putt. A car was ready at the course to whisk the happy couple back to Manhattan where they celebrated over Champagne and dinner. Rabbi Mark Winer, cousin of the groom, officiated at the ceremony held at the Four Seasons Resort in Palm Beach, Florida. A reception followed and the newlyweds surprised their family and friends with a choreographed first dance that they had rehearsed for months at a dance studio in New York.
The bride, daughter of Patti and Robert Jordan of Miami, Florida, graduated from Gulliver Preparatory and the University of Texas. She is in marketing with Estée Lauder in Manhattan.
The groom, son of Marilyn and Gary Hellinger of Greenwich, graduated from Greenwich High School and Cornell University. He is completing his M.B.A. at New York University. Jeremy is in investment banking at JP Morgan in New York.
Following a honeymoon in South Africa, Mr. and Mrs. Hellinger returned home to Manhattan.
