Calling All Runners

If you're a runner, you know the streets of Westport offer both loops that are long and level or windy and hilly. So whether you want to zone out on your next run or grit it out on an incline, you'll find a suitable path.

Nike knows this, too. When it came to town, it included a running club. Totally for free, you can meet up for group runs. Head to the store on Wednesday at 5:30 pm and/or Saturdays at 7:30 am for this ongoing program. There you'll meet your group—somewhere between 15 and 25—and head coach Keith White. Whether you're a marathoner or a beginner, you'll fit in; pacers stay with you to get you through the session. A trainers stays at the front of the group, and another in the back so no runner is bored or discouraged. Instead, everyone finds his/her own pace and enjoys some company while pounding the pavement.

Nike says, "Just Do It." They never said you had to do it alone.

Nike, 69 Main St., Westport.
