Chandler Bewkes and Ryan Stroud started dating during their second year of business school at Carnegie Mellon. Following graduation, Chandler stayed in Pittsburgh for her job. Ryan moved to New York City, but the couple maintained their relationship. One evening, Ryan showed up at Chandler’s doorstep to take her to the restaurant where they had their first date. Unfortunately, all tables were booked so they ended up at the eatery across the street. Ryan wasn’t willing to give up on his plan, though, so after dinner they took a walk and ended up at the original restaurant, where he then proposed.
The couple married at St. Luke’s Parish Church in Darien, where the bride’s cousin, Grey Zeigler of Rowayton, performed an original song she wrote for the couple. The reception was held at the Wee Burn Beach Club. “One of the most memorable moments was the first dance,” says Chandler. “We had taken some lessons ahead of time but we hadn’t exactly nailed it. Once we were out there, we just let loose and had the most incredible time.”
The bride works at Dannon in White Plains, New York, as an assistant brand manager. Chandler is a daughter of Garrett Bewkes of Darien and Belinda Metzger, also of Darien. The groom is an investment banking associate at JP Morgan in New York City. He is a son of Dr. Robert Stroud of Austin, Texas, and the late Marcia Stroud. The couple live in New York City.
