Hannah and Joe may have met in the modern way—online—but their first date was quite old-fashioned. The pair started at CFCF on the Avenue, then moved on to Cos Cob Park for a stroll and finished at Douro (now Moli) for lunch. The connection was immediate, and they began spending all of their free time together.
Less than a year later, Joe proposed at his parents’ house in Greenwich. Following the big question, his family ran out with balloons before the couple headed to Tony’s at the J House to celebrate.
Joe’s father, David Sternberg, officiated at the ceremony at Burning Tree Country Club, where the reception followed. The couple eschewed tradition and got ready together, which they felt was a great way to spend quality time alone before the hectic day.
The bride, daughter of Coren Ellis of Rhode Island, graduated from Warwick Veterans’ Memorial High School, Quinnipiac University and Quinnipac University School of Law. Hannah is an attorney at Day Pitney in Greenwich.
The groom, son of David Sternberg and Susan Bernhardi of Greenwich, graduated from Greenwich High School and Georgetown University. Joe is a consultant at FTI Consulting in Greenwich.
The newlyweds live in Greenwich.
