Hooked on Seafood

Living on the coast means many things—beautiful sunsets, refreshing breezes, afternoon walks on the beach, but most of all, it means delicious seafood. Here are five local spots that make the most of the coastal culinary world available right here in Stamford.

Crab Shell

As the restaurant’s motto says, there are “no bad days” when enjoying the finely prepared dishes and unbeatable summer atmosphere offered at Crab Shell, a favorite seafood restaurant on a boardwalk overlooking views of Stamford’s Landing Marina. Perhaps its most unique feature is its “Crab Shack,” an outdoor bar in front of the main restaurant that offers live music and its own more casual menu with many scrumptious options straight “from the sea.”

New Wave Seafood

Whether you are looking for a quick bite to eat or that perfect fresh fish for a home-cooked meal, New Wave Seafood is the all-around “seafood hub” of Stamford. The longstanding business receives whole fish delivery on a daily basis, all of which are hand cut in the store. There’s even a live lobster tank facility that can hold up to 10,000 pounds!

Ponus Yacht Club

A staple of Stamford’s harbor for over 100 years, the “Grille” at Ponus Yacht Club is the ultimate destination for all nautical-loving individuals looking for stellar seafood in an “off-the-beaten-path” waterfront setting. Its unique “dock and dine slips” available to accommodate yachts as large as 100 feet, leave absolutely no excuse to not stop by for classic seafood menu items such as fish and chips, steamed clams and surf and turf, to name a few

F.I.S.H. Restaurant & Bar

A new dining experience is now available in downtown Stamford! Known for its excellent raw bar and innovative recipes, F.I.S.H. offers an extensive list of fabulously prepared Halibut, Yellowfin Tuna, North Atlantic Cod, Whole Mediterranean Sea Bass and more with its “Naked Fish Dinner”—an option that without a doubt leaves all fish lovers spoiled for choice.

LobsterCraft Food Truck

“From boat to bun,” LobsterCraft Food Truck provides its patrons with a variety of hot buttered lobster roll creations while on the move! You can even track the highly popular truck’s location from your phone, tablet or computer! Be on the lookout for LobsterCraft at Vets Park as well as 500 West Putnam Ave—two of its Stamford summer stops while on the road.
