Margaux Moran & William Filippo

Margaux Lynn Moran was a full-time student at the University of Connecticut and working part-time at the now-closed Borders bookstore in Stamford when she met William Booth Filippo, also a student at UConn who often studied at the store’s coffee shop. His order was always the same, she recalls, a small coffee, light and sweet. It wasn’t long before they struck up a conversation, quickly became friends and fell in love. While the couple vacationed in St. Maarten, William proposed, and they soon made plans for a wedding at Our Lady Star of the Sea in Stamford. The Rev. Edward R. Surwilo presided. A reception followed at Woodwinds in Branford.

The bride, daughter of Yolanda Rosario and Manuel Moran of Stamford, graduated from Westhill High School and UConn. She is a senior digital media planner for Media Networks in Stamford.

The groom, son of Barbara Booth of Port Chester, New York, and the late Frank Filippo, graduated from Port Chester High School and UConn. He is an infrastructure support engineer for Diamondback Capital in Stamford.
