Nicole and Sean first met at Bucknell University, but that is not where their love story began. They started dating years after graduation, when a work colleague reconnected them. Two and a half years later, Sean proposed on Great Captain Island, followed by an engagement party at the Greenwich Water Club.
Dr. Lindley DeGarmo officiated the ceremony at the First Presbyterian Church of Greenwich, with a reception at Greenwich Country Club. Among the evening’s highlights: guests were escorted into the reception tent by band members and handed custom tambourines to play as the wedding party made their introductions.
The bride, daughter of Thomas and Sandra Birkhold of Greenwich, graduated from Greenwich High School and Bucknell University. She works at Goldman Sachs in Manhattan.
The groom, son of Pamela Doyle of Huntington, New York, graduated from Cold Spring Harbor High School and Bucknell University. He works in real estate in Manhattan.
The couple honeymooned in Singapore, Thailand and Hong Kong, and now split their time between Manhattan and Greenwich.
