Ride for a Cure

JoyRide Cycling Studio, the Darien-based fitness boutique featuring indoor cycling and strength training classes, will host a fundraising ride to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association’s Connecticut chapter.  Led by instructor Dina Fay of Darien, this special 50-minute ride will be held on Saturday, February 27 at 11:30 a.m.

The minimum donation is $40 per bike and can be paid at the door. All donations will support the association’s mission to eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.

Since Westport residents Amy Hochhauser, Rhodie Lorenz and Debbie Katz founded JoyRide more than four years ago, they’ve witnessed how indoor cycling can transform people’s lives, whether it be improving their health, becoming stronger physically and emotionally or overcoming challenges on and off the bike.  The culture of JoyRide is more than fitness: It’s a culture of good health, paying it forward, supporting one another and spreading joy.

Over the years, JoyRide has demonstrated a strong commitment to community, raising nearly $500,000 for charitable causes and organizations that are close to the its customers’ hearts.  JoyRide hosts indoor cycling fundraisers and training rides, as well as organizes teams to participate in fundraising events outside of the studio.

JoyRide classes are geared toward all ages, genders and fitness levels. Lorenz designed an exclusive training method, which combines core elements of Pilates with high-quality indoor cycling to maximize cardiovascular benefits, lower blood pressure, develop muscle tone and reduce body fat.
