Rockin' For A Cure

Moms for Mikey & The Mikey Czech Foundation Present "Rockin For A Cure" starring Dennis DeYoung, founding member and lead singer of STYX hits 'Come Sail Away', The Best of Times', 'Lady', and many more – The Music of Styx on Saturday evening, November 16, 2013, at The Woodway Country Club in Darien, CT. This is a once-in-a-lifetime private concert, proceeds from which will fund pediatric brain tumor research. Cocktail reception begins at 6:30 p.m. followed by heavy hors d'oeuvres, a silent and live auction, followed by the concert at 9:00 p.m. Tickets are $225.00 each.

Dr. Mark Kiernan, MD, PhD, director pediatric neuro-oncology center at the Harvard Medical School/Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is the featured speaker. Moffly Media is the exclusive media sponsor.   

Mikey Czech died on September 7, 2008, from complications associated with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (“DIPG”), the most dreaded form of brain cancer in children. The Foundation's mission is to finance world-leading pediatric neuro-oncology translational research at Harvard Medical School/Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, whose mission is to develop remedies and cures for all pediatric brain tumors. The Foundation also approves grants to support pediatric brain tumor research at healthcare, education and medical research facilities through out the United States.  

Steve and Jennifer Czech were awarded Moffly Media's 2013 Light A Fire Award, which celebrates local residents who have gone above and beyond in the name of philanthropy and volunteerism. The honorees are nominated by members of the community. The Light A Fire award ceremony takes place on Thursday, November 7, 2013.
