The Silvermine Arts Center of New Canaan is one of the oldest active artist communities in the United States, with a nationally renowned arts guild, an award-winning art school which offers classes to all ages and a gallery that features twenty modern and historic exhibitions each year. Silvermine Arts Center’s annual fundraising event Signed, Sealed, and Delivered, featuring works from the Silvermine Guild of Artists, returns with a twist.
For the first time, collectors and enthusiasts interested in purchasing art will be able to see the for-sale works in an exhibition leading up to the art sale on March 28. The works will include 10” by 10” wood panels, paintings, drawings, prints and photographs, ceramics and sculptural wall pieces mixed media, and other paper works.
On March 28, a $50 raffle ticket purchase earns you a 4” by 6” work (artists will be anonymous until work is purchased), while a $100 raffle ticket will yield a work in the 10” by 10” category (works will be exhibited alongside the artists’ names). Guests will enjoy wine and hors d’oeuvres while raffle tickets are drawn.
Works by the following artists will be available: Mary Manning (of Darien), Susan Sharp (Easton), N.W. Gibbons (Greens Farms), June Ahrens, Rosamund Berg, Lucianne Buckner, Stephanie Joyce, Constance Old, Marjorie Tomchuk (New Canaan), Suzanne Benton, Debra Schafer (Ridgefield), and Nash Hyon (Wilton) among others.
Signed, Sealed, and Delivered is an irresistible once-a-year event that we are privileged to have right in our backyard. For more information on the exhibition, fundraiser, or the artwork, contact Gwen North Reiss at pr@silvermineart.org.
