Did you know that Connecticut has the 2nd highest incidence of breast cancer in the U.S.? There are also over 2.5 million breast cancer survivors today in the U.S.. Every October charity events across Fairfield County raise money for important research that is helping to save lives. Here is a roundup of the many events that you can participate in to make a difference—from walks and runs, to tennis, shopping and fashion shows.
Paint the Town Pink Campaign
Stamford Hospital’s 6th annual fundraising events “stress the importance of regular screenings and early detection” and highlight “the services available right here in our community.”

Key to the Cure
Saks Fifth Avenue will host its 13th annual Key to the Cure four day shopping weekend to benefit the fight against women’s cancers with 2% of all sales donated to CancerCare. CancerCare offers free professional support services to anyone affected by any type of cancer. Since Key to the Cure’s inception in 1999 the company has donated over $32 million to women’s cancer organizations throughout the United States.

Lace up your running shoes and participate in the Race for the Cure and the 3 Day Walk for the Cure events, and/or donate to their research foundation (now in it’s 31st year). You can also shop for clothing and accessories for the whole family like a Vineyard Vines pink ribbon tie at ShopKomen (25% of the proceeds go to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.)
Revlon Run/Walk for Women
