Top 5 Tips for the Week Before Thanksgiving

In The Kitchen…

1 Create and organize your marketing list by store and category. The optimal day to shop is Monday.

2 Organize your pots and pans so you know what will be cooked where.

3 Be sure to place/confirm your bread and pie orders.

4 Make and freeze your stock and hors’ d’oeuvres.

5 Buy extra containers to send your guests home with leftovers

Around Your Home…

1 Plan a time line for the day- when will you serve cocktails? When will your meal be served?

2 Select and organize all serving pieces by labeling what each piece will hold with a post-it note.

3 Decide how you will serve your meal, family style or buffet? Whichever way you choose, don’t forget to do a dry run with your serving pieces to make sure everything fits.

4 If you are having a kids table, consider using craft paper and colorful pencils as the table covering. Not only will this ease clean-up, but will be a fun way to keep the kids amused.

5 Remember to stay calm, and be thankful for all of your life’s blessings.
