Enzo Custom’s West Putnam storefront
Whether you’re looking for the perfect tuxedo for a wedding or a classic jacket to wear for meetings and other occasions, Enzo Custom can outfit you in suiting that fits your form and style, down to the last detail. With an array of high-end fabrics and options you can tailor to your needs, Enzo delivers a precise fit that’s an instant confidence booster. “What separates us from others is real customer service, real relationships that we build here. We have a passion for what we do. It all starts with a fabric and an idea,” says Will Freire, client service representative in the Greenwich location. “I feel like a teacher in many ways. They’re coming into my classroom, and then I’m letting them know what the options are and guiding them.” Most people are unaware of all the measurements and options for personalization that go into a bespoke suit, and it’s Enzo’s role to educate clients, who frequently become repeat customers.

Bespoke tuxedos, just in time for wedding season
The Manhattan-born brand, whose largest showroom sits across from Grand Central, has grown to 17 locations. Greenwich is its latest addition. While walk-ins are welcome, an appointment is worth making. A customer service rep will walk you through the full fabric selection, imported offerings from Loro Piana and Dormeuil, alongside Enzo’s own U.K.-produced line. The fabrics are available in different weights with linens, cottons, wools, four-season wools, flannels and more. An Enzo rep can advise on choices for both style and function. For example, a workhorse suit that someone plans to bring on many business trips could be created in a two-ply fabric for added wrinkle-resistance and durability

Each suit jacket begins with its internal architecture, a full cotton-and-horsehair canvas plus shoulder padding, interlinings and collar felts, all sourced from German specialists and selected to achieve a shape that endures over time. To help you select suit and lining fabrics and get precise measurements, you’ll stand in front of the store’s Customizer mirror, a virtual tool that lets you “try on” different fabric and color combinations. Each client’s shoulder width and chest size are measured, among other specifications, along with calculations around posture and arm length. All of this affects the jacket length, says Will Freire. “You’d be surprised. It’s very common for people to have one arm longer than the other.” Using the mirror, you can see how different size lapels will look, a variety of pocket shapes, contrast stitching, lapel button-hole style, vents on the back, patterned linings. With the pants, there are options for types of cuffs (or none), side belt adjusters, pocket options (such as welted, slated, jeans style, Western) and more. Enzo also offers interior monogramming for suit jackets and embroidery under the back of the collar. “For a lot of wedding tuxedos, we put the wedding date there. It’s reminder for the man to never forget his wedding date. I save people from trouble,” Will says, laughing.
The luxury is in the details: custom linings, hand-selected buttons and finishing touches made entirely your own.

The suits can be ready as quickly as four and a half weeks, but it’s smart to plan farther ahead when you’re ordering for a wedding or special event. The end result is something that men feel so comfortable in they wind up purchasing from Enzo Custom for all future suits, jackets and pants. Will says of his customers’ response to experiencing custom clothing: “People say, ‘Wow!’ It’s hard to go back.”
