Much to the delight of its fans, Pickets, one of a kind garden antique shop of Greenfield Hill, plans a surprise revival. A Grand Opening celebration will take place Friday, November 1st, in its new location — The Greenfield Hill Nursery, 1301 Bronson Road. Pickets two month run in the barn will remain open through the Holidays and plans to close January 1, 2014.
“I’ve owned Pickets for 20 years and I closed a year ago in July,” said Laura Baker. “I took a year off and missed it so much. This opportunity came along and I’m reopening in a lovely collaboration with Bill and Mary Anne Heine (Greenfield Hill Nursery owners)!”
Pickets will carry a mix of vintage (anything that strikes me as having interest — hotel silver, glassware, marble items, garden ornaments) antiques (silver and glass) and new (modern fresh — furniture, pillows, lit branches, exclusive in this area), vintage jewelry, Polar Bear throws, jingling leather doorbells, rustic finials, urns, planters & much more.

“We are cheap. I’m an old New Englander,” enthused Baker. “We carry Hurricanes and Votive’s for $12 that are great looking, we have cool things for $6 and $8 and beautiful cashmere shawls for $74!”
Baker has been busy scouring for Pickets trade mark one of a kind items all year. She has found everything from spiked dog collars, a 1940’s Statue of Liberty lamp, plates with piglets on them and rhinestone tiaras to holiday items such as: topiaries, holiday garlands, unusual ornaments, mossed branches, lighted trees, wreaths, swags, and pine stems. Also planned are unadvertised specials and ‘bargains of the day’.
“We’ll have plenty of holiday lights, bells and whistles,” continued Baker. “Though I’m most excited about the quirky vintage pieces we’ve collected.”
Pickets will be open daily from 10am — 5pm and Sundays from 12 — 4pm. Don’t miss the excitement!
