Erin and Eric lived less than three miles apart but it took the Internet and eHarmony to bring the pair together. After chatting via e-mail for a week, the couple went on their first date. Nearly three years after that initial meeting, they married. Being a traditional man, Eric asked Erin’s mother and father, the chief of the Stamford Fire Department, for Erin’s hand in marriage. Two days before Christmas, Eric proposed overlooking the water in Maine.
Associate Pastor Mark Montgomery officiated the ceremony at Woodway Beach Club in Stamford, where a reception followed. The ceremony included inspirational readings from close friends, and a touching poem by the groom for his bride. Guests were lead to the cocktail hour by family friend John William Carroll, playing the bagpipes.
The bride, daughter of Timothy and Judith Conroy of Old Greenwich, graduated from Greenwich High School and Babson College. Erin is a vice president account executive for NetJets in Boston.
The groom, son of Maurie and Elaine Nordstrom of Pelham, New Hampshire, graduated from Melrose High School and North Carolina Wesleyan College. Eric works for EMD Millipore in Billerica, Massachusetts.
The newlyweds honeymooned in Hawaii before returning home to Somerville, Massachusetts.
