David Anthony Jones and Dori Rachel Kirzner met at Lehigh University in 2004. Both were engineering majors and as an excuse to talk to Dori, David would constantly “play dumb” and ask to see her homework. After a year of friendship, the two began to date. Following their college graduation, the couple moved to Australia then to New Zealand for a year. Five years later, after a dinner in New York City with Dori, David’s brother Craig and his girlfriend, David got down on one knee at Rockefeller Center and asked Dori to marry him. She accepted, and the group celebrated with a glass of Champagne and then took in a Broadway show.
Pastor and uncle of the bride Don Adams officiated at the ceremony, held in a clearing of an apple orchard overlooking the mountains at the Warwick Valley Winery in Warwick, New York, and a reception followed at the Crystal Springs Resort in Vernon, New Jersey.
The bride, daughter of Leslie and Dr. Howard Kirzner of Ramsey, New Jersey, graduated from Lehigh University. She is a mechanical engineer at Jarvik Heart in New York City.
The groom, son of Joyce and Robert Jones of Cos Cob, graduated from Greenwich High School and Lehigh University. He is an engineer diver with Ocean and Coastal Consultants in Trumbull.
The newlyweds spent their honeymoon in Morocco and Spain.
