Nicole Daydra Sterling Allen, known as Nikki, and Brian James Gentile met over New Year’s Eve weekend in 2004, when both were invited for a celebration in Warren, Vermont. They were instantly attracted to one another and spent the entire time snowboarding together. Since that weekend, the two have been attached at the hip. Five years later on what would have been Brian’s mother’s birthday, he took Nikki for a walk at Tod’s Point with their two dogs. There he proposed on one knee with a vintage ring, and she accepted. Justice of the Peace Diane Fox, cousin of the groom, officiated at the ceremony at the Mountain Top Inn in Chittenden, Vermont. A reception followed there. The couple wanted a winter wonderland-themed wedding and was blessed with two feet of fresh snow that weekend. In the bride’s bouquet were charms with photographs of several women in their wedding attire, who had passed away or were too ill to make the trip.
The bride, daughter of Jan Allen of Darien, and Clark Allen of Greenwich and Riviera Beach, Florida, graduated from Greenwich High School and the University of Connecticut. She is a library technical assistant at Greenwich Library.
The groom, son of the late Diana and Ernest James Gentile of Greenwich, graduated from Greenwich High School and Quinnipiac College. He is a junior account executive with Integrated Marketing Services in Norwalk.
The bride and groom left their reception on a snow mobile. Following a honeymoon in New Zealand, the newlyweds returned home to Cos Cob.
