Madeline Rahe and Douglas Peck met when the Rahe family moved into Peck’s hometown of Fairfield in 2001. The couple became and remained good friends throughout high school and college. Upon college graduation in 2008, their friendship developed into something much more.
The couple dated for six years before Peck proposed in the Shenandoah National Park, atop the Little Stony Man Cliffs surrounded by breathtaking views.
The couple was married at the Southport Congregational Church on September 12, 2015, by Reverend Paul Whitmore, after which a twelve-piece fife and drum band lead the procession of 175 surprised guests on a short walk down Center Street to the spirited reception, which was held at the Pequot Yacht Club.
Madeline is the daughter of Maggie Moffitt Rahe of Southport and Rod Rahe, Jr., of Rowayton. Madeline graduated from Fairfield High School and the College of Charleston with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and currently teaches at St. Patrick’s Episcopal Day School in Washington, D.C.
Douglas is the son of Fairfield residents Lyn and former Chief of Police Dave Peck. Doug graduated from Fairfield Prep and the University of Virginia with a bachelor’s degree in finance and economics and an MBA from the University of California Berkeley. Doug is a consultant at Boston Consulting Group in Washington, D.C.
The couple honeymooned in Vieques, Puerto Rico.
