It all started in a sophomore geometry class at Darien High School, when Beth Piantidosi and Sean Russell were seated two rows away from each other. The following year they started dating; twelve years later, they were engaged at Vail Mountain. The engagement came as a surprise to Beth, even though she and Sean had stayed together through college in different states, a two-year separation while she worked in Honduras, and another two years apart when Sean was at business school in Texas. Beth and Sean say these experiences have strengthened their connection as they’re committed to supporting each other’s dreams.
The couple married at St. Joan of Arc in Orleans, Massachusetts. The reception was held at Chatham Bars Inn in Chatham. The cocktail hour featured hors d’oeuvres made from nearly 100 pounds of bluefin tuna the groom had caught the day before.
The bride is a research manager at Gerson Lehrman Group in Austin, Texas. She graduated from Gettysburg College with a bachelor’s degree in business management. Beth is the daughter of Flo and Frank Piantidosi of New Canaan.
The groom graduated cum laude from Loyola University with a bachelor’s degree in history. He earned his master’s in business administration from the University of Texas. He works as a trader at Whitebox Advisors in Austin. Sean is the son of Sharon and Steve Russell of Darien.
The couple honeymooned in the Maldives and live in Austin.
