Longtime couple Dan Guller and Eric James were on a Caribbean cruise in February 2011 when Dan popped the question over dinner in the ship’s steakhouse. Their wedding was held the following October, just one day after an unusual fall snowstorm. Despite the weather obstacles, friends and family made it into town to attend the ceremony and reception, both of which went off without a hitch at the Darien Community Association.
Rabbi Brian Leiken from Temple Shalom in Norwalk and the Reverend Dr. Jacqui Lewis from the Middle Collegiate Church in Manhattan officiated at the ceremony. Both Dan and Eric have been professional performers and the reception reflected their love of music. The couple coordinated a cabaret of sorts, where several friends performed songs, including the finale, “Love is a Many Splendored Thing.”
Eric is the son of the Reverend Ronald James and Annette James of Hyattsville, Maryland. He graduated from Indiana University with a bachelor’s degree in music. Eric is a compliance officer for GE Capital in Norwalk.
Dan—the son of Arthur and Lois Guller of St. Louis, Missouri—graduated from Syracuse University with a degree in broadcast journalism. He works for JPMorgan Chase in Old Greenwich.
The Darien couple is looking forward to spending their honeymoon in the cities of London and Paris later this year.
