Abilis Announces 21st Annual Walk/Run for Abilis on October 11, 2026
1-Mile Walk and 5K Run Support Individuals with Disabilities and is a Family-Fun Abilis “Friendraiser!”
Join Abilis for its 21st annual Walk/Run for Abilis on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at the Clambake area of Greenwich Point Park (Tod’s Point) in Old Greenwich, Connecticut. This family-friendly “friendraiser” features a 1-mile accessible walk and 5K fun run that are fun for all ages and support individuals with disabilities. On-site registration opens at 7:30 a.m., followed by a warm-up with celebrity fitness guru Billy Blanks Jr. at 8:30 a.m. The 5K begins at 9 a.m., with awards afterward, and the Walk begins at 11 a.m. The event concludes by 12:30 p.m. Festivities include the Abilis Youth Board’s Carnival for a Cause, children’s games and activities, a balloon artist, face painting, music, dancing, fitness activities, light refreshments and an Abilis Gardens & Gifts pop-up shop. Participants and teams are encouraged to wear creative outfits or T-shirts, bring banners and show their team spirit for a chance to win prizes. Advance registration is recommended at abilis.us/walkrun, although same-day registration is available. Walkers participate free; registration is $35 for runners ages 12 and older and $10 for runners ages 11 and younger. Proceeds will enhance Abilis’ day programs, including individualized life-skills training, job coaching and friendship-building activities for Abilis community members.
