In early spring the Mill River Park Collaborative held the dedication and celebration of the new Whittingham Discovery Center. The center’s goal is to connect Stamford to the ecosystems Mill River Park preserves while educating the community on nature. Guests heard speeches from Connecticut Representative Jim Himes, Governor Ned Lamont, Stamford Mayor Caroline Simmons all about the importance of the center, all followed by a gala dinner under a billowy white tent. The event was a success with close to 600 attendees including cousins Adam and Paul Whittingham, sons of brothers Andrew and Michael Whittingham, for whom the discovery is named.
