A mutual friend brought David Howard Kessler, known as Dave, to Kathryn Anne Profusek’s twenty-fourth birthday celebration at the Merc Bar in New York City. After their friend left, Dave stuck around so he could spend more time getting to know Katie, as the bride is known. Three years later, while the couple was visiting Katie’s aunt on the eastern shore of Maryland over the fourth of July, Dave proposed while boating in Chesapeake Bay. He had hidden Champagne under the life vests to celebrate their engagement. The Reverend Melanie Gambino officiated at the ceremony held in the garden of the the bride’s parents home. A reception followed at Greenwich Country Club.
The bride, daughter of Linda and Robert Profusek of Greenwich, graduated from Greenwich Academy and Cornell University.
The groom, son of Jean and Glenn Kessler of Northborough, Massachusetts, graduated from Algonquin High School and Washington University in St. Louis. He is a portfolio manager with Kore Advisors in Palm Beach, Florida.
