At the Upper East Side party in Manhattan of a mutual friend, Lara Elizabeth O’Shaughnessy encountered Gregg Lawson Woolven. Soon after they met, they had their first official date at Terra restaurant in Greenwich. Three years later, Gregg asked Lara to take a walk with him at Tod’s Point. As soon as there was no one in sight, Gregg dropped to one knee, pulled the ring out of his pocket and proposed. As the happy couple walked back to their car, the sun came out for the first time in four days. Carrie O’Brien, a friend of the bride and groom, officiated at the ceremony at the Indian Harbor Yacht Club. A reception followed there. The newlyweds left by launch as well-wishers provided a spectacular send off with their sparklers in the air.
The bride, daughter of Rowena Karsh of Larchmont, New York, and William O’Shaughnessy of Delray Beach, Florida, graduated from Travella High School and the University of Florida. She received her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Maryland College of Dental Surgery. She is a dentist with Dr. Zadik and Associates in Greenwich.
The groom, son of Ian Woolven of Greenwich, and the late Marcia Barker Woolven, graduated from Greenwich High School and Champlain College. He works in private wealth management at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney in Ridgefield.
