Marjorie Webb & Ryan Childress

As an undergraduate at the University of Virginia, Marjorie Anderson Webb had no idea that as she rooted for the football team, she was actually cheering on her future husband Ryan White Childress. Five years later, the two met the night before they were to start classes at the Darden School of Business. Once the two met, Marjorie hoped that she would see him again. Shockingly she did at orientation, flag football games, 5K runs and happy hours. After studying together for several months, both realized they were more than friends. Three years later, Ryan proposed to Marjorie back in Charlottesville on a hike to Humpback Rocks on a rick precipice with 360° views of rolling mountains immediately before their first Darden class reunion. Senator Mark Warner of Virginia officiated at the ceremony at Farmington Country Club in Charlottesville, Virginia, and a reception followed. The groom’s cake was in the shape of the University of Virginia stadium, complete with lights and playing the “Good Ol’ Song.”

The bride, daughter of Marjorie Webb of Greenwich, and Jeff Webb of Wilton, Connecticut, graduated from Greenwich Academy, and received undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Virginia. She works in executive research for Heidrick & Struggles in Atlanta, Georgia.

The groom, son of Sue and Marty Childress of Shawsville, Virginia, received his undergraduate, master’s in education policy and M.B.A. from the University of Virginia. Ryan is a private wealth advisor with Barclay’s
in Atlanta.

Mr. and Mrs. Childress spent their honeymoon in Hawaii and California.
