Enjoy an evening in the meadow October 4 from 7:00-10:00 pm for the party that everyone loves to attend but rarely hosts anymore! Jeans, jackets and boots; beer, wine, and seasonal foods make it easy to celebrate the season with friends along with music from “the Jazzholes”. New to the line up this year will be a selection of gluten free beers including New Planet, Daura and, brewed like a beer, SpikedSeltzer! Also enjoy a variety of regional craft beers and wines and to top it off, be silly and take your own “party pics” sponsored by Venture Photography.
The Harvest Fest is a fundraiser to support the variety of programs the Nature Center provides as an environmental education center and resource. “The Harvest Fest at the Nature Center is becoming one of our favorite community events” says Boardie Kurz, the Nature Center’s Director of Marketing and Development. “It’s a ticket that’s hard to beat: re-connect with all sorts of new and old friends over a variety of craft beers, wines and foods along with live music and lawn games under the fall sky. It’s the party in the garden that everyone wants to throw but doesn’t have the time or energy to organize.”
The event is hosted at the Nature Center, 144 Oenoke Ridge Rd, New Canaan. It is open to the public with parking available at St. Marks and First Presbyterian Church. Tickets are available online (newcanaannature.org), at the NCNC Visitors Center or by calling 203/966-9577 x 50. $65 prior to the event, $80 at the door. Must be 21 or older.
The New Canaan Nature Center is a non-profit environmental education center and sanctuary dedicated to helping people of all ages better understand, appreciate and care for the world of nature. The Nature Center’s grounds are open from dawn to dusk daily. The Visitors Center, including a Nature Gift Shop featuring books, nature-themed toys, seasonal gifts and more are open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
