Out of Sight

Dress your windows as easily as you dress yourself with the help of The Shade Store. A window treatment resource to designers and homeowners across the country opened its first Connecticut showroom in Westport, giving Fairfield County shoppers access to luxury textiles and top-notch design in their backyard. The family-run business, founded in 1946, offers its exclusive collection of more than 800 materials (they also take trade customers’ own materials) and design services to both trade and retail customers at the state-of-the-art showroom.

“Our whole concept is to make custom very simple,” says Vice President of Showrooms Lisa McClelland. “Everything is American-made, everything is hung and tested before it ships, and most products ship within ten days.” Plus, it all ships free.

Once you have the window dressing in hand, The Shade Store can help you find an installer, too. The showroom business is supported by a nationwide network of prescreened measure and install experts, so your project is covered from start to finish.
