Paint and Party

Many a famous artist has indulged in the inhibition-loosening qualities of vino. Now we can all party down while releasing our creative spirit at Pinot’s Palette, now open and offering interactive painting classes. Here’s how it works: A group (celebrations, girls’ night out, you name it) books an evening. You arrive, get a glass of wine or beer, don an apron, and sit down before a blank canvas. Feeling intimidated? No reason to. An artist guides the group through the steps to recreate a painting (previously chosen by the group). “We like to ask everyone if they’ve had a good time, and I can tell you that 100 percent have expressed they’ve had a great time and they’ll come back,” says Chad Smith, owner of the franchise that opened in December. Don’t have a group to go with? Pinot’s Palette offers public classes. Or you can rent out the entire high-ceilinged studio for a private party, team-building exercise or customer appreciation night. Bonus: you get to take home a memento, an original painting by a newly discovered artist: You.
