Sarah Elizabeth Kiernan was working on the sports desk at the Daily Princetonian when she met Ross Elliot Mazo. He was a year ahead of her at the university, and Sarah was assigned to shadow Ross at a soccer game to learn the ropes covering sports. They remained friends through Ross’s graduation. The two reconnected a year later at the Princeton reunions right before Sarah’s graduation and started dating soon afterwards. Four years later, the couple joined the Mazo family on a ski trip to Aspen, Colorado, where Ross kicked off his skis and proposed on the slope. To celebrate the engagement, the couple took the chairlift back up to the top where Ross’s family was waiting with Champagne and cameras. The Reverend Dr. James B. Lemler, assisted by Rabbi Richard Davis, officiated at the ceremony at Christ Church. A reception followed at the American Yacht Club.
The bride, daughter of Elizabeth and James Kiernan of Greenwich, graduated from Greenwich Academy and Princeton, where she received her bachelor’s degree in history. She is vice president of securities trading at Goldman Sachs in New York.
The groom, son of Dr. Fern Litman and Mark Mazo of Chevy Chase, Maryland, graduated from St. Albans and Princeton. He received his medical degree from Thomas Jefferson University. He is a resident in internal medicine at St. Luke’s–Roosevelt Hospital in the city.
The Manhattan newlyweds spent their honeymoon in Greece and the Greek Islands.
