Editor’s Letter – Being Intentional

As we step into a new year, I have been thinking about the power of being intentional, about what it means to choose with purpose, to act with clarity and to create with conviction. In our homes, our families, our careers and our communities, the most meaningful shifts often come not from sweeping resolutions, but from deliberate steps: the commitments we renew, the questions we ask and the work we choose to elevate.

This issue is anchored by a woman who embodies that ethos at the highest level. Our cover story features American journalist and CNN anchor Kaitlan Collins, a figure whose career has been defined by the courage to ask hard questions and the discipline to seek truth in an increasingly polarized media landscape. From her early days covering the Trump and Biden presidencies as CNN’s Chief White House Correspondent to her current role helming The Source, Collins has become one of the most trusted—and unflinching—voices in broadcast journalism today.

Her appearance at Fairfield University in every sense is a call to intentionality: a reminder that credible reporting requires rigor, ethics, and the willingness to follow the facts wherever they lead. In our feature, Collins reflects on the shifting terrain of modern media and the responsibility of telling the truth when the stakes are highest.

That theme, intentionality, echoes throughout this issue.

In BUZZ, we feature Wynston Browne, the nonspeaking autistic Westport teen now serving as a Consulting Producer on The Telepathy Tapes documentary, whose extraordinary abilities and creative insight are reshaping conversations around intelligence, communication and the inner lives of nonspeaking autistic individuals. We also spotlight Kiin Sauna, we spotlight the innovative mobile sauna-and-plunge wellness concept that’s rethinking recovery for a busy, modern life.

Our DO section looks at what well-being truly means in 2026, where longevity, strength and nourishment converge in new and exciting ways.

Our SHOP pages shine with intention too, from jewelry designer Orly Marcel’s arrival in Fairfield County, to the elevated classics of recently rebranded White + Warren’s and their new Club Collection from a Southport founder whose designs are as timeless as they are thoughtful.

As I look across these pages, what strikes me most is how deeply this issue reflects our community: its creativity, its curiosity, its intelligence and its heart. Every story reminds us that living with intention is not about perfection; it’s about choosing where to focus our energy, how to uplift one another and how to shape a world that reflects our highest values.

Here’s to a year of acting with purpose, asking courageous questions and embracing every moment with intention.
Warmly,
